Vulvovaginitis is the inflammation of both vagina and the parts around it (vulva). This could be caused by bacteria, virus, yeast or other parasites and can happen to women of any age. One of the commonest reasons for vulvovaginitis is yeast infection which is characterized by thick white discharge & itching in and around vagina. Though vaginal discharge is a sign of a healthy vagina, but thick, heavy discharge with an odour is a sign of vaginal infection.
